Is there any chance of being electrocuted by solar panels?
Is there a risk for firefighters when they enter a building where there is solar power and stand in a puddle of water if there is short between the solar panels and the water.
They cut normal power before entering buildings, but do you get enough juice from residential solar panels to consider this as a risk?
edit: you could place a normal off switch on the solar array and hook it up to the fire alarm for industrial systems, the switch should open even when power fails.
And you are correct in saying that it is the current that kills, but you still have to have enough volts to get a decent current trough a human (no mater what the max current output is).
The real question is then do solar panels have a fixed current output (then its dangerous) or a fixed voltage (then with max 50 volts is even wet not a problem)

I also want to stay off the electric grid . It would cost an additional ten thousand dollars to be hooked into it and I want to be independant from utilities. Would solar panels and batteries power lights and T.V , computer , washer dryer ect.

My wife had seen him and and she said he still might be there and I got home from work and Costco was open a little later. And she took me down there and she met him. OK, I gotta do it. And from then it was September of 2007 and I thought I would just put in my application to the Architectural Committee (Rock Creek HOA) because I had to do that for the yard and the deck and you are supposed get a 45 day turn around. Well when I didn’t get it by October – I went to inquire, I was told you can show up at the next meeting by that time – I check and gave them a little more time back in December or November I think they were skipping December and going in …
