Next Generation of Cheap Solar Cells
****Since all the comments seem to be either 100% positive or 100% negative about this solar technology i would like to clear up some some misconceptions. First of all I’d imagine that takes years to set up the the precision equipment for 2 of the largest solar panel manufacturing plants in the world and be able to print solar photo cells as fast as newspaper. After the plant was completed in 2007 the first focus was on commercial uses and their first costumers where municipal utility companies. This sounds to me like a good business tactic to help you establish a successful business from the start. Next they started offering it to electrical contractors as part of a beta testing process so they can work out the kinks that arise from scaling down their panels from large commercial ones to the ones that you can use on your house. That is where were at today. After the beta testing they will start offering them to the general public. Their website even has a place to enter your email address to be notified when this technology will be available to you the home owner. Its a process and that apparently some people out there believe happens over night. This company immediately got more financial backing then needed. Google is one of the biggest investors so I believe its all legitimate. There are two benefits from the use of alternative energy. It will save you money but also it means that energy produced is done so with out creating pollution. This is good for everybody. Even …

@idfask it’s not impossible to refract or reflect light at multiple angles as suggested to direct at a source panel or area.
@stonerscolony well thank god for plausible deniability offered by the word nearly
but still it would be so much cheaper and easier to create flat solar panels (at least in the near future)
@Shalek no problem
@idfask I agree
What do you think about the “Costco” new Sunforce 246 Watt
Solar Power Back Up Kit with Sharp® Solar Modules
30 Amp Digital Charge Controller and 200 Watt Inverter
Item # 253506 (retail price @ $1,399.99) … is that good buy ???
@stonecoldjason
only 50 ?? must be a forgien suv
@elbeghast
there have been places to get solar panels for < $2 a watt for atleast a year, if you are willing to spend the money for a dozen panels …
I invented a breakthrough energy source which violates the law of energy conservation. I have a PROOF that there are electrodynamic phenomena which violate the law of energy conservation. I am looking for $30 000 for a prototype and for $3M for patents. Making a 15 kW generator will cost $1200 in mass production, value of the energy produced yearly about $10 000.

so thin that when you try to assemble them they break easily and its a pain in the ass. I have even had them break after i encase them in safety glass no lie. Its very difficult to make them I’m seriously thinking about buying a factory made one next time after six homemade panels.
I’m not a left wing nut job or a right wing extremist, all I have to add is that for this technologies to advance faster we really need to stay out of their business and let them thrive, there are too many so called “experts” who will do anything they can to slow them down (oil industry?). Things don’t happen overnight, lets give them a few more years and this will be a total hit. Imagine an entire city with solar panep roofs feeding back the grid. Now that’s an idea. I really hope this guys
We need a lot of solar cells in a shape like rod. If people add sunlight concentrator like flexible parabolic reflective mirrors to collect more sunlight, a rod can roll and turn constantly to cool off. Solar cells are expensive and flexible parabolic reflective mirrors can save a lot of solar cells if we adopt solar rod for evolution.
I’ve looked up the website for nanosolar & they’ve been booked solid for over 5 yrs now! That’s how popular it is! They simply can’t keep up w/ the demand for their product! Plus, they’re trying to keep up while expanding their warehouse! I hope the expansion will compensate and open the market up for them even more so we don’t have to wait much longer!
bored, why? ’cause
(1) it’s low quility
(2) i know that already
(3) it wasn’t finished
@doodr do you have a web site?
how are silicon wafers so expensive if silicon derived from sand is so abundant?
Organized Crime (AKA Oil companies and our own government) are buying all the companies that produce solar panels in order to charge hundreds of times the cost of production of these panels. They don’t want us to have free energy, they want to make sure solar energy is never available to the public at prices that make sense. This is all a fraud. Wake-up America!
where is this …its been out for 4 years..and you still cant find it
if it’s so easy to make howcome nothing is for sale…
assholes
I hate my law of smooth transitions. somehow no disrupting technology is ever allowed to come to pass. OLED has been known as long as LCD but they are still feeding us the crappy LCD when OLED is vastly better in every way. and this is so easy and cheap to make and they sell us bullshit lies that it takes time to scale production???
a super succesful business and they can’t expand? yeah right
@monstercameron tey are ultra pure and the processing costs a lot of money!
I invented a breakthrough source of energy, which contradicts the law of conservation of energy. I have a PROOF that there are electrodynamic phenomena which contradict the law of energy conservation. It will cost about $1200 to make a 6 kW generator in mass production. Value of the energy produced yearly about $5400. I am looking for $300 000 for a prototype and for $3M for patents.

@monstercameron … the process to make it cost money.. (man, materials, research and investment) you answered your own question.
@foonty #lol damn it.. i didnt see that comment.
If they can be print it onto a water pipe sitting in a parabolic trough sunlight collector, water inside the pipe can cool off the solar cells and become preheated for water tanks while the solar cells generating electricity.
