my average in hot months (florida) is about 90 KWh
No. The voltage will remain the same.
aedgin says he uses 90,000 watts? Frick. How many batteries and solar panels do you think he has rigged up at his place?
90 divided x 24 = 4KWh.
So he would need 10KW system for day night usage.

How many solar panels and batteries would I need to produce 15 KWs per day?
Hello, just wondering if you know a 3P – 3P solar inverter? what is the number of panels if you wanted to have 10kva 3P-3P solar inverter.?

Great video!
I am rusty and this video really helped out. Right now I have a Deep Cell Marine Battery and I have a 9Watt and a 1.5 Watt Solar Panel going to a charge controller. I am using a 100 Watt inverter most of the time, and as needed I an using a 400 Watt inverter.
I am only running a clock radio and charging Nintendo DS, PSP and Cell Phones as needed.
Pardon my ignorance, but what is that thing in your hand? Is that a voltmeter? Just trying to be sure. I’m a total newbie when it comes to this stuff.
i cant wait for the vids you mentioned at the end, thats teh kind of stuff i need to know so i can get everything planned without flying by the seat of my pants.
Well done! You explained it so well. I got my solar panels with no wiring which made it very hard for me to decide how to connect them. But based on what you said, very simple. I’ll connect them in parallel.
i have 2 85 watt multicrystalline and 2 80 watt monocrystalline….but they have the new mc4 conncetors….and they come with one male and two females on the other end…and one female and two males…..they tell me that this is how they do parallel connections…i did that …and a AA battery was putting out more volts then my four panels…..how can i do it the old fashion way…?
@ginostatus I use jumpers in this video watch?v=rpafn-urjrg
You can buy mc4 to pigtail, or an extender mc4 to mc4, cut and pigtail.
Great Video….
It is said that the plastic in these panels has a little developing to do before it’s a sound investment. I am very encouraged to see this taking off, however. There will be detractors–but solar is the future.
can i run a charge controller with these specs 30A,40A,45A and the voltage is 12V or 24V auto switch. with a 1500w 12/48 amp inverter
i hope you can help. i’m building my panels. should, i build the panel to 18v or 12v. i’m told 18v for the panels. what do you suggest?
thanks for the ear
18 V IS THE GOAL FOR CHARGING 12V

Can i hook panels up to charge controller in series or is that a bad idea?
what is that box thing called that you hook your solar panels into
@117boonmoo solar power controller.
I would like to know can I run heavy electric appliances like refrigerator and Iron on solar panel, To run a referigerator how many of these panels I need.
Greenpower science thanks for this interesting video.
Dan, I have 7 (15W) Solar Panels. Can I link my panels (Harbor Freights 12V) in parrallel and charge my batteries (Two 12V Deep Cycle) in series to properly connect/use with a grid tied inverter ?
